Casa Brava

The proposed design explores different options for a new high quality detached dwelling along the Brava coast in Southern Spain. The site is steeply sloped with large boulders in the centre and protected Algarrobo and Pine trees. The proposal seeks to integrate these existing natural features into the design.

The concept design explores the relationship with the boulders aiming to create a sculptural arrangement akin to the surrounding mountain landscape. The house is designed as a series of architectural boulders that step down the landscape. The design has presence and permanence like the mountains themselves.
