Art Deco House
The client brief for the Art Deco House project requested a feasibility study for renovation, upgrade and extension of their listed 1930’s home.
This is a typical example of the Baca approach to RIBA Stage 1-2 brief development and concept. Studying the overal site constraints leads onto a design process of sketching by hand, modelling in 3D in computer software and critiquing and analysing in order to evolve 3 sketch options for review by the client. Three levels of intervention are typically suggested, as illustrated in this project: 1) renovation of existing 2) reorientation and modification of existing 3) major rehaul and new build.
